Level 3 Teaching Assistant Part Time

Scale 3 SCP 5 £12.85 per hour, 12.3 hours per week over 2 days: 8:50 to 15:30, term time only.

The governors of Our Blessed Saints Federation wish to appoint a kind, enthusiastic, flexible and experienced teaching assistant, to work as a member of the support staff team at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Primary School.

Main responsibilities will include providing support with teaching and learning for a variety of pupils, small group interventions, occasional Cover Supervision class support and other day to day Teaching Assistant duties.  Included in the role is half an hour Lunchtime Supervisor Cover per day.

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a strong commitment to progressing the learning outcomes for all our pupils, and who can show how they would deploy their existing skills to engage and support learners. 

The post holder will also be responsible for assisting with the preparation of classroom resources, undertaking first aid duties and be willing to undertake other relevant training.

In addition to general L3 Teaching Assistant duties, experience and training in the following would be desirable:

  • EYFS trained or an interest in the Early Years
  • Have an understanding of phonics and Early Reading
  • Hold an NVQ L2/L3 Qualification or equivalent
  • Have a good level of English and Maths
