PTFA
Friends of SS. Peter & Paul
SS Peter & Paul school has had a very active parent teacher association for many years. Over time it has evolved from a PTA to, in 2010, a Friends association. This name was chosen when the PTA and the Italian Committee decided to join forces.
Over the years, many thousands of pounds has been raised for the school and equipment as diverse as computers, books and gardening tools have been purchased for use by the pupils. There have been summer fairs, Christmas fairs, summer balls, bingo and a host of other inventive and fun events, including Newport Carnival!
The aim of the association is not only to raise funds to enhance the existing provision for pupils but also to provide a means for social events for parents, families and for pupils. Discos and film nights are very popular with the children!
The Friends’ Annual General Meeting is held at the start of the school year in September. Please consider putting your name forward as a helper or as a member of the committee.
Helpers are parents who cannot commit to regular meetings but who would be willing to help with one or two specific events during the year.
The school is extremely grateful for all the hard work that goes into events organised by the Friends and for the additional support parents give to the school.
During the academic year 2021-22, the PTFA held many different events and raise enough money to support the children by buying 30 new iPads for the children to use in their lessons. A massive thank you from the children and staff at SSPP for your continued hard work and support.
