2020 Theme: Share a Million Stories
We will be holding several events to celebrate World Book Day at school this year.
On Wednesday 4th March the children can come into school dressed up. We have a whole school theme this year based on the story The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. There will be a costume parade at 9.00am and prizes will be given for the best animal costume in each class. Parents and caregivers are invited to stay and watch the parade.
There will also be a book swap that afternoon when children can bring in a book from home and swap it with another child’s book.
On Thursday 5th March we will be inviting parents and carers into school at Breakfast Club and at the end of the day and in After School Club to share a story with their child and we will be giving out World Book day vouchers for children to use to collect their free book from participating shops.
Reception and KS1 parents are invited to share a story at 2.30-3pm
KS2 (except Year 6 due to swimming) 3-3.30pm
Details of parents reading during Breakfast Club and ASC to follow as you will need to book a slot.
There will also be a World Book Day competition hosted by the PTFA – further details coming soon!
