As a school, we recognise the importance of supporting children’s emotional health and wellbeing as well as their academic learning. Now that the children have returned to school, we wish to continue to offer opportunities for families to engage in activities that promote time together and having fun!
Each week, we will be suggesting an activity that both your child/ren and your family may like to participate in to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
Earth Day 2021 – Growing plants
Earth day takes place on April 22nd 2021. On this day, people across the world take part in activities to help protect the planet.
The theme for 2021 is ‘Restore the Earth’. This theme helps people to think about natural ways to fix some of the changes that humans have made to the planet.
This weekend’s wellbeing activity is linked to planting.
Deforestation is one of the major causes of climate change. Trees and plants are important because they produce oxygen and take CO₂ out of the air.
This weekend, why not have a go at planting your own plants, flowers, fruits or vegetables.
