Mrs Mac collected a cheque from Waitrose this week for £482 which is going to be used for a school defibrillator. Please read on for information about why Mrs Mac and Miss Mac are so passionate about raising money and ideas they have for raising the total amount. Thanks to both Mrs and Miss Mac for their efforts so far!
After going on a First Aid Course it came to our attention that survival rates of cardiac arrests are extremely poor at around 6%, but with CPR and a defibrillator this can increase up to 70%.
Our aim is to raise £1092 to purchase a defib that can used on a child or an adult at the flick of a switch –rather than having to change pads, thereby saving vital time.
Up to now we have raised £482 from Waitrose by entering our school into the green token collection.
In the new year we will be holding other events to raise money such as:
- Pyjama day
- SSPP’s Got Talent
- Raffles
- Guess the baby (staff baby pictures)
Keep looking out for updates!
