Rainbow Crafts

Hello Year 2!

I am missing you all and have been busy making some guides and things that you can do at home. I have begun by making a step by step guide for two rainbow crafts. These crafts are perfect for both younger and older siblings too.

As many of you know, the neighbourhood art project encourages us to spread joy in this difficult time by placing artwork in windows. This means when you go out on your daily walk/ exercise you can spot the lovely artwork in your neighbourhood.

You might even wish to post some of this art to someone you care about!

“Everyone wants to be happy and nobody wants pain, but we cant have a rainbow without any rain.”

Home Learning Year 2 Week 1

Year 2 Parents,

There is no academic emergency this week, don’t be so quick to set up home schooling.  Be aware of your words. I know schools closing is a big inconvenience and brings lots of stress. However, it is effecting your children and their routine too. Our country is in crisis and we are all stressed and tired. Stressed adults can not teach stressed children. Don’t let your child hear you joking you are dreading them being at home. Don’t let them feel like an inconvenience or a burden. You are their world and their safe place. Focus on connections and feelings of safety. Love them and take time to play games and talk to them. Give them grace. They sense your fear and frustration. This is really hard on them too.

Your work pack was handed out on Friday. There is no rush to complete this, take your time throughout the week. Spend time together. This is the perfect opportunity to spend time together learning through cooking, baking, following a recipe, learning to tell the time or tie shoe laces.

Take care of each other.

Missing you all,

Miss Farthing

Happy Half Term Y2

Year 2 Homework/ Spellings 25.10.2018

Happy Half Term!

Well done to all the children on a fantastic first half term! The children have made an excellent start to Y2 and I look forward to the year ahead! Well done on all your fantastic homework this half – particularly your perseverance with last weeks maths challenge… parents and children!

There is no formal homework for half term (school policy). However, please can you have an autumn walk? This will inspire our poetry when we come back to school. We will be creating firework poetry and autumn poetry, describing all our senses during this magical season.

Have a wonderful, restful half term and I will see you in November.
