Year 5 Weekly overview 14.6.21

Dear parents, The children have had a wonderful week launching their new mini adventure ‘Because’. We have learnt about musical giants in different genres of music as well as musical notations and how the musical timeline compares to what Britain was like at that time. The children have practised creating music using the cup song (they have done amazingly, I have really struggled to keep up with them!)

I have attached next weeks weekly plan below.

A letter detailing our trip to Cadbury World has been sent to you and you can pay via Parent pay. If you haven’t received this, please can you let me know.

Any other queries or issues please feel free to email me.

Weekly Overview

Dear parents,

Please find the overview attached for next week.

Throughout this academic year, I haven’t been able to book any class trips for our class. I was wondering how you would feel about me organising a class trip midway during the summer term. I am looking at booking either the National Space Centre as part of our Autumn term Space mini adventure or Cadbury world which linked with our Mayans and Aztecs Mini adventure. I might let the children choose and obviously look at availability.

I wanted to know how you as parents felt about this? Could you please email me with your thoughts on sspp.year5@taw.org.uk as soon as possible please.

I am currently in the process of reading up about the Covid regulations at each of these places which I can give you more information about.

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Kaur

Launch of our New mini adventure

Dear parents,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter break, it was lovely seeing the children back in on Monday.  On Monday 26th April (next Monday), our class will be launching our new mini adventure, Viscous Vikings. We will be creating Viking Helmets and we will be creating a battle scene. I thought it would be great if the children could dress up in Viking like clothes. You do not need to buy anything, a long plain top / t shirt with a belt tied around the waist and some plain trousers / tights or leggings would be ideal. No head gear is necessary as we are hoping to make those during our launch. There are some outfit ideas below.

Any issues, please do let me know.

Kind regards

Mrs Kaur
